Having competed since the age of 22, I understand firsthand the challenges of pushing the body to its limits, battling cravings, and enduring both physical and mental hardships during a body transformation. Drawing on my personal experiences as a bodybuilder, I can relate to my clients and provide empathetic support when the going gets tough.

Here are some less obvious practices I follow  to maintain a lean and healthy lifestyle

  • 01. NO REFINED SUGARS

    I avoid refined sugars and limit artificial sweeteners, as they can negatively impact internal health, trigger intense cravings, and lead to binge eating while also posing a risk to gut health.

  • 02. SIX MEALS A DAY

    I consume complete macronutrient meals six times a day, ensuring I fuel my body at regular intervals to maintain efficient metabolism, stable blood glucose levels, consistent energy, and controlled hunger. Just like a furnace, the body requires a steady supply of fuel to burn calories effectively.

  • 03. NO SNACKS

    I rarely indulge in snacks. Although I am not in a state of ketosis, I grasp the principles of fat metabolism and utilize the gaps between my meals to burn fat as a source of energy instead of resorting to snacks. By following a meal schedule every 3-4 hours, snacking becomes unnecessary.

  • 04. ESSENTIAL FATS

    My meal plans incorporate polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats like nuts, seeds, and avocado and organic coconut oil for gut health. These beneficial fats aid in the absorption of essential vitamins and minerals and, when paired with a protein source, provide sustained energy.

    Decreasing the intake of saturated fats can significantly impact health - reducing the consumption of animal fats is vital for hormone balance, mood enhancement, and can contribute to reducing bloating and inflammation.

  • 05. NO DAIRY PRODUCTS

    I limit my intake of dairy products and source calcium from green, leafy vegetables. By cutting out dairy, I decrease my consumption of lactose (sugar) and keep a lower daily glycemic index.

  • 06. HYDRATION

    Staying well-hydrated is a key focus for me, and I ensure to consume a minimum of 1 gallon of water each day. Water plays a vital role as a nutrient by assisting in the transportation of essential nutrients to cells and helping in the removal of toxins from the body.

    Given that our bodies consist of approximately 70% water, sustaining proper hydration is essential for peak performance and overall health.
